Doha, January 05 (QNA) – Qatari national football team have embarked upon trainings on Thursday at the training stadiums of Basra city of Iraq in preparation for facing Kuwait on Saturday at Al-Kut Olympic Stadium; within group B of Gulf 25 competitions, scheduled to kick off on Friday.
Qatar’s coach Bruno Miguel Nogueira Pinheiro oversaw the first training, held in presence of HE President of Qatar Football Association Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al-Thani.
Gulf 25 will be a good chance for the players of the Olympic and youth teams; In order to acquire experience prior to the AFC U-23 Asian Cup, the qualifier for the football competition in the Olympic Games to be held in Paris in the summer of 2024.
The Qatari team finalized their preparations in Doha on Wednesday before heading to Basrah after the announcement of the 23 man squad. (QNA)
