Riyadh, January 06 (QNA) – Qatar’s rally driver Nasser Saleh Al Attiyah onboard Toyota, won the sixth stage of the forty-fifth edition of Dakar International Rally’s 2023.

The rally is being hosted by Saudi Arabia for the fourth consecutive time until Jan.15, with the participation of 820 drivers and navigators representing 68 different countries.

Defending champion; Al Attiyah and co-driver Mathieu Baumel covered the distance of the sixth stage between Hail and Dawadmi amounting to 467 km in a time of 3.13.12 hours, a difference of 3.29 minutes from Frenchman Sebastien Loeb, accompanied by his Belgian co-driver Fabien Lorquin who finished second, with a time of 3.16.41 hours. South African Henk Lategan (Toyota) and Brett Cummings ranked third with a time of 3.22.04 hours, 8.52 minutes behind the leader.

With this victory, Al Attiyah continues to top the general rankings of the rally with a total time of 24.00.48 hours, and widened the difference to 1.06.50 hours from his closest competitor, South African Henk Lategan, his teammate from Toyota, who advanced to second place with a total time of 25.07.38 hours, while Brazilian Lucas Moraes came in third place with a total time of 25.14.07 hours.
