Riyadh, January 10 (QNA) – Qatar’s Al Rayyan team squad won the second place in the1st Arab Five-a-Side Hockey Championship held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, with the participation of 7 Arab teams, including Al Rayyan SC, Zamalek SC and Oman team, as well as several expatriate teams in Saudi Arabia.

Zamalek team was crowned with the title after defeating Al Rayyan in the final game in penalty shootout after end of the original time. Al Rayyan received Silver Medals, and Oman won third place with Bronze medals, in the presence of the member of Qatar Committee for Rugby and Hockey Essa Ghanem.

For his part, President of the Qatar Rugby and Hockey Committee Yousef Jaham Al Kuwari said that he is delighted to see Al Rayyan team winning the second place in the championship, and receiving Silver medals, in addition to the team’s excellence in the championship.

He added that such participation is vital and positive for Hockey sport which receives further interest, pledging that he will continue working to offer the best in the future.

Al Rayyan team made honored achievement in the championship and managed to outdo professional teams in this game, Al Kuwari pointed out. (QNA)
