Moscow, January 10 (QNA) – Russian Minister of Finance Anton Siluanov announced today that the budget deficit reached 3.3 trillion Russian Rubles (about $47.1 billion) by the end of 2022.
He pointed out that this value is equivalent to 2.3 percent of the gross domestic product, and that the total volume of budget revenues amounted to approximately 28 trillion Rubles (about $400 billion).
Siluanov said during a cabinet meeting that the total volume of revenues reached about 28 trillion Rubles, which is 2.8 trillion Rubles ($40 billion) more than was planned originally.
This was achieved through oil and gas revenues, as a result of higher energy prices as well as an increase in non-oil and gas revenues, including an increase in value-added tax, as a result of increased demand in certain periods of the past year.
The Finance Minister also indicated that in 2022, additional resources were used to finance expenditures.
Siluanov added that the government increased the volume of attracting money from the financial market, which resulted in an increase in budget deficit. (QNA)
