Basra, January 15 (QNA) – Qatar national team Coach Bruno Miguel Pinheiro said that tomorrow’s Arabian Gulf Cup (Gulf 25) semi-finals match against Iraq, to take place at the Basra International Stadium, will be difficult.
The 46-year-old Portuguese Coach said in a statement during the pre-match press conference today that the Qatari squad is confident of its tactical readiness for the match, despite the opponent being the host nations team, which gives it the advantage of fan cheering and support on the ground.
Pinheiro continued that the match will be competitive, as the Qatari team aims to reach the final, expressing his great confidence in his players no matter what the circumstances were, stressing that ‘Al Adaam’ has prepared well after its last match, especially physically, and the squad will adopt some changes in tactics.
He pointed out that the Iraqi team will enjoy great public support in tomorrow’s match, requiring the Qatari squad to deal well with this pressure, yet Pinheiro considered that it is always good for the stadium to be packed with fans.
Qatar national team Coach concluded his remarks by praising the performance of striker Tamim Mansour Moftah, saying that despite the fact that he only joined the previous match for a few minutes, only that he managed to score the goal that led the team to the semi-finals. He added that the team has young players it looks forward to qualifying in the future.
In turn, Qatar national team defender Hammam Al Amin said that the task will not be easy, especially since that the confrontation will be against the host, who will play whilst enjoying great public support.
He added that the team will do its best to win the match to qualify for the final, despite the Iraqi squads advantage of public support in addition to having benefited from more rest days. (QNA)
