Doha, January 17 (QNA) – Qatar Sports for All Federation (QSFA) organized the 2023 Family Running Race, a first-of-its-type competition that comes as a continuation of the family race series that amounted to six races in 2022.
Held at Al Rayyan Park in collaboration with Al Rayyan municipality, the race covered distances of three and five kilometers. It brought together 70 male and female participants of different age groups, including 30 children.
Following light warm-up exercises, the participants were involved in a range of sports activities such as tug-of-war, tennis, badminton, football shooting, tele-match games, fitness, speed, flexibility, jumping, and softball, with the aim of involving children in group challenges within competing teams. Among the activities were fitness sessions under the supervision of specialized trainers, to guide participants to perform exercises correctly.
Following the race, the participants who finished the two race distances were awarded medals and other encouragement prizes in a bid to motivate all family members to do sports in a wonderful atmosphere that gathers them in one place.
The QSFA has a busy calendar, that offers a variety of events and sporting activities for citizens and residents, whatever their age and sports interests, in a bid to achieve the federation’s message of creating a broader base of sport participation. (QNA)
