Doha, January 23 (QNA) – Al Rayyan Czech Coach Nicholas Cordova said that his team will accept nothing less than winning in tomorrow’s match against Al Gharafa at the Thani bin Jassim Stadium,
part of the 11th round of the QNB Stars League 2022-2023 season.
In the pre-match press conference, Al Rayyan Coach said: “A difficult and strong match in which we need points, and our opponent needs to advance in the table, which was the same match against Al Sadd. It will be strong and decisive, and we will strive for victory.”
Qatar Olympic Team’s Former Coach added: “I do not think that the postponement affected the players as the team trained well and reached a high level. I believe that the players will play the match with the best readiness.”
Cordova concluded his statement by saying: “I always have great confidence in the team. When the results were not good, it used to perform at good levels. I know that the situation is difficult, but I have great confidence in the team to provide good matches in the coming period.”
For his part, Al Rayyan Mid-fielder Nayef Al Hadrami admitted the difficulty of the confrontation against Al Gharafa, especially given his team’s current situation and its place in the standings table, however, he said that Al Rayyan seeks to avoid the mistakes of the previous rounds.
The 21 year old player added: “A difficult match and we need points from all matches to advance in the standings, and we are able to win.”
Al Hadrami explained: “After returning from the break, the team is developing and performing better, and we will try to correct the mistakes of the last match against Al Sadd in order to win the three points against Al Gharafa.”
He concluded his statement by saying: “Al Gharafa are coming from a loss and will try to win. We will also strive for victory by following the coachs instructions and playing as one group.”
Al Rayyan occupies the penultimate position in the league’s standings, with four points, and seeks to compensate for its loss in the last round against Al Sadd, the defending champion, with a goal to two, and to improve its position in the list to move away from the late positions. (QNA)
