Bali, January 24 (QNA) – The draw for the 9th Asian Men’s Beach Handball Championship (2024 World Championship Qualifiers) placed the Qatari team in Group A, along with Iran, the Philippines, South Korea and Saudi Arabia.

Group B, which will be held on the Indonesian island of Bali from March 10 to 19, includes the teams of Indonesia, Vietnam, Oman, Hong Kong, Kuwait and China.

The two teams that finish first and second in the Asian Championship qualify for the 2024 World Championship.

Qatar beach handball team was runner-up in the last edition of the Asian Championship that was held in the Iranian capital, Tehran in 2022. Qatar won the title five times in a row in 2011, 2013, 2015, 2017 and 2019.

Through its participation in the 9th Asian Men’s Beach Handball Championship, the Qatari national team is seeking to regain the continental title and qualify for the World Championship for the seventh time in a row. (QNA)
