Doha, January 28 (QNA) – Qatar Sports For All Federation (QSFA) announced the launch of the local padel tournament for men on Sunday, in cooperation with the Qatar Tennis, Squash and Badminton Federation and Al Sadd SC.
The Platinum Stadiums in Al Sadd Club will host the tournament, which continues until Wednesday with the participation of 138 players representing 64 teams.
The championship activities will witness a huge participation of padel players. Padel is gaining significant popularity among young athletes in Qatar.
The teams are divided into four groups. The competitions will be held in six stadiums with 32 matches per day.
QSFA’s Director of Events and Activities, Abdullah Al Dosari, expressed hope that the new edition of the tournament will come out in the best possible way.
He said that the previous edition in 2022 witnessed great participation and success, which reflects the great popularity of the padel in Qatar, pointing to the continuous growth of the number of players and followers. (QNA)
