Dubai, February 05 (QNA) – President of Qatar Basketball Federation Mohammed Saad Al Mughaiseeb was elected as President of the Gulf Coordinating Committee in a meeting of the General Assembly of the Gulf federations affiliated to the Asian Executive Office of the International Basketball Federation (FIBA), in Dubai, the UAE, on Sunday.
The meeting was held on the sidelines of the Dubai International Basketball Championship. The GA, chaired by President of the UAE and Arab Basketball Federations Ismail Al Gergawi, saw the election of Secretary General of the Qatar Federation Saadoun Sabah Al Kuwari as Secretary General of the Gulf Coordinating Committee.
In a statement, Al Gergawi welcomed all the participants in the General Assembly of the Gulf federations, highlighting the great support for the game in the Gulf regional and at the continental level. He added that current two-legged tie system adopted for the club and national team tournaments contribute greatly to the development of the game in all aspects. (QNA)
