Kuala Lumpur, January 07 (QNA) – The Saudi Arabia national football team strive to have a distinguished appearance to win the title of AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023 scheduled to be held in Qatar with the participation of 24 teams.
As per report published on AFC official website, the image seems to have been completed when the Saudi Arabian Football Federation (SAFF) signed the Italian coach Roberto Mancini in a mission to restore the title, as Mancini is determined to employ his massive expertise to that end.
Roberto Mancini, 59-year-old, holds a wonderful CV. He led Italy to win the 2020 UEFA European Football Championship. The Saudi team are determined to win the title that has been absent for 27 years after they were crowned three times in 1984, 1988 and 1996 and played 48 matches in AFC cup, winning 21 games.
The Saudi team are due to face the Omani counterpart during AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023 on Jan. 16 and will thereafter confront Kyrgyzstan and Thailand on Jan. 21 and 25. (QNA)
