Kuala Lumpur, March 22 (QNA) – The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) announced today that the FIFA World Cup 2026 qualifier between Japan and North Korea has been postponed.
The AFC said in a statement that the match between the two sides “scheduled to be played on March 26, 2024, will not take place as scheduled due to unforeseen circumstances.”
The AFC added in a statement that the decision was taken in consultation with FIFA and comes after the N. Korean Football Association requested moving the match to a neutral venue due to “unavoidable circumstances.”
The N. Korean association said it would not be able to host the upcoming match in the N. Korean capital Pyongyang. (QNA)
