Houston, June 25 (QNA) – Qatar coach Carlos Queiroz said Sunday his side were fully prepared for their CONCACAF Gold Cup 2023 opener against Haiti on Monday morning.
The tournament takes place in the US and Canada from June 24 to July 16.
Speaking at a press conference, the Portuguese expressed his honor and pride to compete in such a high-octane event that showcases diverse and distinguished soccer schools.
Qatar are competing in this tournament as part of their aspirations for better performances on the global arena, highlighting the upcoming Asian qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup finals, the AFC Asian Cup 2023 in Qatar.
Qatar were drawn in Group B along with Haiti, Mexico and Honduras.
Participating at a special invitation from the Confederation of North, Central America and Caribbean Association Football (CONCACAF), Al Ennabi record their second featuring in the tournament. They were eliminated from the semi-finals in the 2021 edition in the US.
