NOTE: The 1125W power supply can also supply 1275W of output power when the input voltage is greater than 105V. If the input voltage is less than 105V, but greater than 90V for any reason, the maximum power that can be drawn is 1125W. An uninterruptible power supply (UPS) is highly recommended if 1275W output power is desired. For details on the supported memory configurations on the HP Z820 Workstation, please refer to the System Technical Specifications – System Board section of this document. DIMMs should be distributed across all four memory channels for optimal performance. |
Each processor supports up to 4 channels of DDR3 memory. To realize full performance at least 1 DIMM must be inserted into each channel.
The CPUs determine the speed at which the memory is clocked. If a 1066MT/s capable CPU is used in the system, the maximum speed the memory will run at is 1066MT/s regardless of the specified speed of the memory.
NOTE: You cannot intermix registered and unbuffered DIMMs. The system will not work.
NOTE: You cannot intermix LR DIMMs with either registered or unbuffered DIMMs. The system will not work.
