Vienna, September 27 (QNA) – The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, represented by the Radiation and Chemical Protection Department, participated in the meeting of the Arab-Asian countries on the sideline of the 66th International Atomic Energy Association (IAEA) General Conference in Vienna, Austria.

During the meeting, the State of Qatar reviewed its experiences and success in coordinating regional and national projects and technical cooperation projects, in addition to the accomplished progress in recent years in using nuclear energy for peaceful purposes.

The State of Qatar also briefed the participants on the various projects related to peaceful uses of nuclear energy in agriculture, medicine, research, disease control, climate change, and others.

The State of Qatar has trained many human cadres, in cooperation with various concerned authorities, and with reliance on the latest equipment in the Central Radiation Laboratory. Also, Qatari cadres seek expertise exchange from International experts in monitoring, detection, and radiological analysis of the Qatari environment. (QNA)
