Doha, September 29 (QNA) – The Joint Committee for Rain Emergencies held a meeting Thursday under the chairmanship of HE Minister of Municipality Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Subaie to further discuss the preparations and essential equipment required to handle the rain season during the upcoming period.

The meeting that was held at MOECC Unified Operations Center reviewed the readiness of the municipalities along with the competent authorities to handle any potential accumulation of rain waters through the provision of taskforce, essential equipment and machinery to promptly drain the waters from multiple areas across the country around the clock.

The meeting tackled the mechanism of receiving the inbound calls and reports at the main Operations Center on the Hotline number 184 that operates around the clock, and the hotline number 188 of Public Works Authority (Ashghal), in addition to the immediate and prompt coordination with rain emergency chambers in the entire municipalities.

During the meeting, HE Minister of Municipality emphasized the importance of coordination and cooperation between the committee and the entire competent authorities in the state of Qatar to ensure the work progress.

His Excellency called for the immediate handling of rain water accumulation and drain them promptly, in addition to coordinating with the competent authorities at the Ministry of Interior to expedite the traffic flow.

In addition, there is ongoing work to apply a field simulation for some scenarios in coordination with several municipalities. (QNA)
