Abu Dhabi, November 08 (QNA) – The Saudi national team will face its Panamanian counterpart in the third phase of the preparatory program for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, which begins on November 20.

The Saudi national team players trained under the supervision of coach Herve Renard in their camp, which is currently located in Abu Dhabi, in preparation for their fifth and final friendly match against Panama, and then the team returns to Riyadh to complete its preparations for the World Cup by playing a final friendly match against Croatia on the 16th of this month.

The player, Salman Al-Faraj, captain of the national team, was satisfied with special exercises accompanied by the medical staff, after suffering a shoulder injury after the Iceland friendly match.

The Saudi national team played 4 friendly matches in its camp in Abu Dhabi, where it defeated North Macedonia 1-0, drew with Albania 1-1, and drew with Honduras 0-0, then beat Iceland 1-0.

The Saudi national team will participate in the World Cup finals for the sixth time in its history. It will play within Group C in the World Cup Qatar, along with Argentina, Mexico and Poland.

The Saudi team will start its World Cup campaign against Argentina on November 22, then it will meet Poland in its second match on 26 November, and will face Mexico on November 30 at the end of the group stage.

It is noteworthy that the Saudi national team achieved its best result during its participation in the World Cup in 1994 in America, by reaching the round of 16. (QNA)
