Sharm El-Sheikh, November 16 (QNA) – HE Minister of Environment and Climate Change Sheikh Dr. Faleh bin Nasser bin Ahmed bin Ali Al-Thani met Wednesday with a plenty of heads of the delegations participating in UN Climate Change Conference (COP 27) currently being convened in the Egyptian Sharm El-Sheikh.
His Excellency met with HE Vice President of Iran, Head of the Iranian delegation participating in the conference Ali Salajegheh, during which they discussed the existing consultation the coordination between Qatar and Iran with respect to a wide range of topics of climate change.
His Excellency also met with HE Turkish Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Murat Kurum and discussed the aspects of cooperation between the two countries in the areas of clean energy and ways to curb climate changes.
In the same context, HE Minister of Environment and Climate Change Sheikh Dr. Faleh bin Nasser bin Ahmed bin Ali Al-Thani met with HE Minister of Environment in Iraq, Dr. Jasem Al Falahi and his accompanying delegation, during which the joint consultation and coordination between the two countries were discussed pertaining to multiple topics of environment and climate change.
In addition, HE Dr. Faleh bin Nasser bin Ahmed bin Ali Al-Thani met with HE Regional Ambassador for the Middle East and North Africa, Eastern Europe and Central Asia to COP 27 Janet Rogan, during which they discussed the mechanism of joint cooperation at all levels in countering climate changes.
In a related context, His Excellency Minister of Environment and Climate Change visited the pavilion of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia held within COP 27 conference.
His Excellency the minister was keen to tour the pavilion’s sections and listened to a detailed explanation about the content of each section and got briefed on the Middle East Green Initiative, Cloud and red sand seeding technology along with Biochar fertilizer.
On the other hand, the pavilion of the State of Qatar in COP 27 conference organized a panel discussion titled: “Uniting the voices of the world’s youth for better climate action” which included a host of youths participating in the conference from various nationalities, including the founder of Enavra initiative Saoud Al Emadi and Co-founders of SDGeneration Network Oweis Al Salahi and Ajlan Al Kaabi, along with a group of young researchers and analyzers in the areas of environment and climate change who shared the viewpoints to curb climate changes and got familiarized with the experiences of the countries in this framework, in addition to discussing the ways to unify their voices in the international arenas.
