Dubai, November 17 (QNA) – Canadas mens national soccer team beat today Japan 2-1 in its final pre-World Cup friendly in Dubai, with a late penalty coming from Lucas Cavallini in added time.

Japans goal in the 9th minute came when they sent a long ball over Canadas midfield and through the center of the park. Canadian defenders misread a ball that allowed Japans Yuki Soma to re-direct the pass past goalkeeper Borjan without much in the way of a clinical finish.

Steven Vitoria scored in the 21st minute for Canada after Atiba Hutchinson re-directed a corner kick and Canadas veteran center-back tapped the ball past Japan goalkeeper Shuichi Gonda.

After the match, Canadas reserves and substitutes played a 45-minute friendly against local second-tier UAE side Dubai City FC. (QNA)
