Doha, November 28 (QNA) – Uruguay national team coach Diego Alonso stressed the loss of his team against Portugal was harsh, adding that Uruguay was better in many parts of the match, especially in creating scoring opportunities, and could have scored more than one goal.
In the post-match press conference, he said that his team created more chances than Portugal, adding that his team suffered from some technical problems, but he made many substitutions to improve performance and score goals, but that did not happen.
Alonso said the next match for his team against Ghana would be of great importance, strength, and excitement, but it has nothing to do with what happened in the World Cup in South Africa in 2010 when the Uruguayan team eliminated Ghana and prevented it from reaching the semi-finals in a dramatic way.
Uruguay’s coach concluded by saying that he would do the best possible work to prepare the national team for a full attacking match. (QNA)
