Doha, December 16 (QNA) – HE Minister of Sports and Youth Salah bin Ghanem Al Ali crowned the winners of the ninth and tenth runs of the 20th race meeting, organized by the Racing and Equestrian Club on turf racetrack in Al Rayyan on the occasion of Qatar National Day.
The nineth of the ten-run race was for the National Day Trophy, while the tenth was for The Founder’s Trophy
Wathnan Racing’s “Sealine” grabbed The Founder’s Trophy, after winning the nineth run of 1500 m for Local Purebred Arabians under jockey Ronan Thomas.
Another Wathnan Racing’s horse “Abbes” snatched the National Day Trophy after winning the tenth run of 2000m for Purebred Arabians (Gr2) under jockey Ronan Thomas.
The eight other runs of the meeting were won by “Princesse Mourtajez” of Salmeen Abdullah Salmeen AL Jabri, “Dance Acclaim” of Al Jasra Stud, “Impedor De Bozouls”, Mohamed Abdulhadi Al Hajeri, “Al Kharaitiyat” of Khalid Rashid Al Kashkashi, “Lauderdale” of Mohamed bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Attiyyah, “Taxiwala” of Osama Omar Ismael Al Dafaa, “Equinoxe” of Wathnan Racing, “In The Night” of Ibrahim Saeed Al Maliki.
Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club (QREC) Chairman Issa bin Mohammed al Mohannadi praised the strong performances that highlighted the meeting.
He said in remarks after the awards ceremony that spectators’ presence was strong and the competition was fierce. lauding Wathnan Racing for winning the trophies of the two main events of the day. (QNA)
