Rabat, December 20 (QNA) – The Board of the Central Bank of Morocco raised on Tuesday the main interest rate by 50 basis points to 2.50 percent.

In a statement, the bank said that in order to avoid unfixing inflation expectations and ensure the conditions for a quick return to levels consistent with the goal of price stability, the board decided to raise the main interest rate by 50 basis points to 2.50 percent.

The statement added that the bank will continue to closely monitor economic conditions, both nationally and internationally, especially inflation rates. (QNA)
