Doha, December 22 (QNA) – The registration process in the championships of the14th Qatar International Falcons and Hunting Festival (Marmi) 2023 is set to start on Saturday at the headquarters of the Qatar Al Gannas Association at the Cultural Village Foundation (Katara), and will run until Dec. 26, 2022.

The festival is one of the vital events organized by Al Gannas Association since falconers were registered in the world heritage list in 2011, within the framework of preserving the folkloric and sentimental values for this sport that was inherited from the ancestors, in addition to its significance in the Arabic literature and the Arab folklore, particularly the gulf and Qatari one. It is annually held under the patronage of HE Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al-Thani.

However, In order to facilitate the registration process for the future falconers, the registration in the Young Falconer and the Promising Falconer competitions will be held at Sabkhat Marmi in Celine, where the time schedule will be set after the registered participants are counted and draw lots for contestants in all festival tournaments is conducted, since the organizing committee is keen to have a wider participation from the young people, where valuable rewards have been announced for them.
