Bangkok, December 26 (QNA) – The Government of Thailand has predicted the growth of energy consumption in the country during the next year with 2.7 percent annually.

In a statement, the Ministry of Energy emphasized that the oil consumption is likely to grow with 4.2 percent, and the natural gas with 1.8 percent annually, during the next year

The ministry’s estimations indicate that the total energy consumption during 2022 amounted to 2.06 million barrels of oil equivalent per day, and is anticipated to reach 2.11 million barrels of oil equivalent per day next year.

The ministry indicated that the ease of the restrictions imposed to prevent the spread of COVID-19, the recovery of tourism sector and the growth of agricultural sector will increase the energy consumption, warning that the uncertainty surrounding the global economy, including the policy of zero infections with the Coronavirus in China represent a challenge for the economy in the coming year.
