Al Rayyan Contracts Japanese International Player Shogo Taniguchi

Doha, December 28 (QNA) – Al Rayyan Sports Club signed the Japanese international player Shogo Taniguchi to joint the club’s first team.

In a tweet the club said: “Al Rayyan contracts the Japanese international player Shogo Taniguchi”
The Japanese club Kawasaki had held a farewell party for Taniguchi, 31, before leaving for Doha to join Al Rayyan. Taniguchi would replace Palestinian international defender Yasser Hamad who was injured.

Taniguchi played for his country in the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, and presented impressive levels as the team reached the round of 16 before losing to Croatia on penalties. Coached by Hajime Moriyasu, the Japanese team defeated the German and Spanish teams 2-1 in the group stage. (QNA)
