Doha, January 30 (QNA) – Al Duhail defeated Al Wakrah 1-0 in Week 12 of the QNB Stars League 202-23 season, at Saoud bin Abdulrahman Stadium on Monday.
A third minute goal from defender Youssef Ayman was enough for Hernan Crespo’s men to keep their top spot with 26 points, four points ahead of runners-up Al Arabi.
This defeat keeps Al Wakrah in the third place with 18 points, making their campaign for the title, which they last claimed 22 years ago, more difficult.
Also in Week 12, Al Sadd beat Al Markhiya 1-0, and Al Gharafa defeated Al Sailiya 2-1. Al Ahli secured a 3-1 win over Umm Salal, and Al Rayyan made their second victory this season after defeating Al Shamal 2-1. (QNA)
